Adding Images to the Home Page

I. Front page photos
There are two sizes of photos we use on the front page of CWT:
1) the feature photo which is 150x165 pixels

2) the thumbnail which is 55x55 pixels

Step 1: Once you have cropped your photos to size,

  • Front page feature photos will have to be imported to "images/home/top_articles"
  • Thumbnails will have to be imported to "images/home/mid_articles"

Step 2: Once the images are imported, rename them according to whichever article they correspond to.
For example if the feature article on the front page is "womenmen/lovebyfaith", then the photo for the article on the front page should be called ‘lovebyfaith.jpg’. In the same way, if the article corresponding to the thumbnail is a recipe with the filename "recipe/cclasagna" then the thumbnail image should be called ‘cclasagna.jpg’.
Step 3: Then direct submit any photos you’ve imported.

II. Adding images to the front page index:
Step 1:
Go into (edit) the front page DCR.
Step 2: In Section 1, where it says ‘feature image’, click on "browse" and browse to where your image is in IW in images/home/top_articles.
Step 3: To add a thumbnail image to the frontpage, scroll to where the corresponding article is on the DCR and in the ‘image’ field for that article, browse to the image in images/home/mid_articles.
Step 4: Preview to make sure the images are linked correctly and showing up in the right spots.
Step 5: Save and direct submit the DCR.

Note: To see the edits on dev or live, you will need to deploy the front page DCR and the images separately.
