Perform the following steps to create a devotional page:

1. In Interwoven, click on the Christian Women Today link.
2. Once in Christian Women Today, find the devotions file in the content work area.
3. In the devotions file a new dcr will need to be created.  Create a new dcr by selecting File/New Data Record.
4. Select content
5. Select "devotional"
6. A special template for devotionals will open up

The following paragraphs outline how to use and input information into a devotional DCR.

• Date - In the date field, use the pull down menus to fill in information. Entering the date is not crucial, but it can be helpful if the devotion needs to be found on a later date.
• Title - The title field should be entered in ALL CAPS. This is done to make the title stand out more.
• Author - Use the pull down menu to select an author. *DO NOT* type in the author's name, as typing it in will cause a malfunction.

-For a new author, you will first need to create a new DCR (from file menu/new data record/content/author bio). The DCR will need to be saved with the author's name (DO NOT use punctuation in the name as this will cause malfunction). If the DCR is saved and direct submitted before a devotional page is created, the new author's name will show up in the drop down menu.

• Passage - leave blank
• Reference - leave blank
• Keywords -  leave blank
• Study - This is the area where the devotional text goes. Devotional text can be copied and pasted into this area. Correct improper spacing between paragraphs by pressing Shift-backspace.
• Related links - This field contains links to other articles that relate to the devotional. Type or copy and paste related links into this field.  Make sure the related link has the full URL typed out. It is important to have that URL typed out in full as one cannot use hyperlinks in a devotional template.

Once a devotional is created, click Save As. When the "Save As" window opens, select daily. In the "daily" window that opens, enter the appropriate sequential number in the field. It is important to keep the sequential numbers in numerical order in order to prevent malfunction.

Once the DCR has been saved, click on Close. The DCR now needs to be direct submitted (by File/Submit - Direct). There is no way to preview the devotionals, so they must be deployed to dev in order to be reviewed.

Once the devotionals have been deployed to dev and reviewed for any errors, let Stacy know. She will give the devotional(s) a final check.
