Creating Ministry Opportunities in Open Chat

Open chat can offer great ministry opportunities if we take the initiative to steer the conversation towards spiritual things. Here are some ideas of how to stimulate positive, uplifting discussion:

1. Ask one or two chatters to share their personal testimony. This encourages the person who shares their story and also benefits those who hear it. It sets the stage to share the gospel with those in the room.

2. Get the room involved in some sort of Bible Trivia. This is a great way to get chatters into the Bible and quoting scripture.

3. Ask the question: "What is God teaching you right now?" or "What has God been doing in your life in recent weeks?"Take a moment to share your own thoughts as well.

4. Direct the room to begin a prayer party...or praise party...or popcorn prayer. Whatever term you want to use, and just redirect their focus to God and His Word.

5.  Discuss the names of God and what they mean to you.

6.  Share ‘spiritual marker moments’ where you know without a doubt God was working in your life.

7. Chat about ways to introduce the Gospel to non believers who enter the room.
