Here are some suggestions for answering those tough questions in the Chat Room
1. Pray for the person and for God's wisdom in answering. Ask God to show you what might be really troubling this individual and focus on the one thing.
2. When answering, lead with empathy. For example, say "Your situation certainly sounds difficult".
3. Offer a relevant scripture (co-host may be able to help you with this one) Some good ones to start with are: Jeremiah 29:11-13, Psalm 73:25-26, Romans 8:38-39, Joel 2:25 (Then I will make up to you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten...)
4. Offer to pray right there...."Let's pray for you" (or for this situation) right now...
5. When sharing your thoughts or Biblical advice, open your sentence with "I'm wondering what would happen if you tried...”
6. Recommend a book if you know of a good one that relates to the topic. Some good ones are
***Changes That Heal by Henry Cloud and John Townsend
***Love is a Choice by Hemfelt and Warren
***Faith is Not a Feeling by Ney Bailey
